Meet Dr. Wietecha

Dr. Scott Wietecha is Board Certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and is a Fellow of the American and International Associations of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is a Diplomate of the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology and a Fellow of the American College of Dentists. He was elected to the Pierre Fauchard Honorary Dental Academy and serves as a member of the South Carolina Dental Association Ethics Committee.

Dr. Wietecha attended Wofford College and graduated with honors (Phi Beta Kappa, Biology Student Departmental Award) with a B.S. in Biology in 1974. He graduated from the Medical Universisty of S.C. College of Dentistry in 1977 as Valedictorian with numerous departmental awards. He entered the U.S. Navy completing a General Dental Practice Residency at Portsmouth Naval Hospital. He served in Sicily and Parris Island, S.C., where he occupied an Oral Surgery Fellowship position in 1981. He was awarded the Navy Achievement Medal and was Honorably Discharged as a Lieutenant Commander in 1982. He completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Residency at the Medical College of Georgia in 1985 and returned to the Midlands to establish his practice.

Dr. Wietecha remains married to his childhood sweetheart and enjoys his practice and his family. He has an intense interest in Nature which he shares with his grandchildren and anyone willing to listen.
